Our Services
What we offer
We offer 1:1 direct therapy services in a tiered model. A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides 1:1 direct therapy under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who develops your child’s treatment program, trains and supervises the RBT, and delivers training to families to generalize skills learned. We adhere to the standards set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
We specialize in the following areas
Applied Behavior Analysis
Applied Behavior analysis uses evidence based practices and data driven techniques to increase or decrease behavior by changing the consequences of the behavior. We use discrete trial training as well as naturalistic and incidental teaching methods to deliver ABA services.
Certified PEERS(R) Social Skills Training
UCLA’s Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) is among the only evidence-based social skills interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Developed at UCLA in 2005, the program began with adolescents, but it has expanded to offer services for both young adults and preschoolers, as well as for those who are not on the autism spectrum but are motivated to overcome the social challenges associated with attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder, anxiety and depression. The program imparts skills related to making and keeping friends, and counsels on handling conflict, rejection and bullying.
Certified Safety-Care Crisis Prevention Training
All of our staff are trained in Safety-Care crisis prevention training. Safety-Care training provides the skills and competencies necessary to effectively prevent, minimize, and manage behavioral challenges with dignity, safety, and the possibility of change.
Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI)
EIBI uses ABA practices specifically with children with autism to teach adaptive behaviors and increase their skill repertoire. The programs emphasize generalization of learned skills/learned behaviors, expressive and receptive language, and naturalistic teaching.
Verbal Behavior Training
Verbal Behavior training is also derived from ABA and the work of B.F. SKinner. The focus of verbal behavior training is to motivate learners to use language by connecting words with their purposes of contriving opportunities to use the words.
Certified Practical Functional Assessment/Skill-Based Treatment (PFA/SBT)
Dr. Greg Hanley’s practical functional assessment and skill-based treatment process (aka “My Way” approach) , which prioritizes safety and social acceptability, has proven to be a highly effective and generally applicable approach to treating severe problem behavior. The process has been refined to prevent escalation of problem behavior while replacement repertoires are developed in the challenging contexts in which severe problem behavior is most likely to occur.
